Microorganisms have a close relationship with the human life and survival.Top 10 Adornment for Boxing Day
There are many foodstuffs (wine, yoghourt, mushroom), commercial products(leather, landification), medicaments( vitamin, ecological pesticide), all of which depend on microorganism . They also play an important role in mineral exploration and mining, waste disposal (such as water purification, biogas) and other fields. Microorganism is the only recognized nitrogen fixer( such as rhizobium japonicum) and animals and plants residues's degradation regulator( such as fibrin's degradation) in nature, at the same time it is at the beginning and end terminals of usual bio-link, thus finish carbon, ozote, sulfur, phosphor and other biomass's cohension in systemic circulation. If there is no microorganism, many living creature will lose necessary source of nutrition, plants' nemaline residue can not be decomposed and will be infinite accumulated and the present prosperity and orders of the nature or the formation and continuation of human beings will be impossible.Surprise!! Besides, microorganism also plays an important role in the change of climate on earth. New Jenny Check hockey sticks Microorganism also acts a vital role in maintaining the marine creatures, for they`re most likely to dissolve the toxic chemical substances even plastic among all organisms. The palstic waste in ocean will not only influence the ocean's scenery, but also will have a fatal influence on marine organim. However, the coastal micoorganism can skillfully get rid of the plastic elements in seawater. The conclusion is held by Jesse Harrison in Edinburgh at the spring public meeting on microbiology. The researchers from the University of Sheffield and the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science have joined their hands to compete the study.
Mixed ocean microorganism can live in waste plastics, adn also can spread from a small flock to a more wide environment, which provides possibility for the marine microorganism which often contacts with plastics to take part in every activities, and these activities help a lot with degradating these harmful plastic or poisonous chemical elements. Plastic pollution is a long-term problem, because it takes thousands of years for plastic to decompose naturally. "The plastic garbage in our lives are all randomly thrown by consumers. The rapidly growing and numerous man-made waste in the sea are mostly from them." Jessie Harrison explained.
In a long time, the size of the plastical fragments in the marine is smaller and smaller and this is the result of the natural power. Plastic fragments smaller than or equal to five mm are called "light plastic". This type of plastic is dangerous especially, because they can absorb toxic chemicals, and transfer to ocean animals through digestive system. Microorganism is the largest organic life in abundance in marine environment and this is the first time to research how they have an effect on plastic fragments besed on genes. This new topic makes research on the attachment between microorganism and scraps, polyethylene which is the usual elements in plastic bag. Scientists find that the plastics are usually occupied soon by many kinds of bacteria, and then collectively forms a " biofilm" on the surface. What's interesting is that this biofilm can only exist with a special ocean bacterium. A research team under Mark Osborn doctor from Sheffield University is planning to probe into how microbes act on mini-plastics, especially when mini-plastics change constantly in line with the condition under the sea. They believe the research could have huge environmental benefits. "Microbes play a key role in sustaining all marine life and are the most likely of all organisms that decompose and give off toxic chemicals, or even the plastics," said Mr Harrison.
